Murals
Uplifting Communities and Creating Kinship Through Art
Imagine walking past a mural in your hometown with a friend and being able to say “I helped paint that.” Wouldn’t you be awfully proud to see the results of your own hands beautifying the landscape you grew up in?
As a muralist, I help bring communities together by designing a unique piece for their town that reflects its own identity. I also design works to include community members in the painting process, turning public spaces into shared points of pride.
Collaborative mural-making brings art directly to where people live. Think of it as an open-air classroom - one without academic barriers, gatekeeping, or pressure to “do it the right way”. Instead, communities can learn by doing and sharing knowledge with their neighbors.
These projects beautify local spaces, strengthen community identity, and make art accessible right where people live.
Mosey Among the Murals
Breathe in some Appalachian air and take a drive from the cities to the mountains to see murals I’ve worked on. From a sweet possum in Harlan, KY, to a set of stairs in Whitesburg, KY, you’ll get to see how communities change when they embrace art.
