Using high-quality, archival-grade materials, I use everything from cyanotype to oil based inks to mixed media to create images of the people and places of Appalachia. I focus on the stories of my ancestors and family, the hidden creatures in the these mountains, and the way the mountains get into your bones.

To make this print, I sketched the image and then transferred it to a linoleum block. From there, I carved the image away. You can see this in the last image above with a print lying next to the carved block.
I drew inspiration from many of Frida's paintings and her diary.
This print is called, " Thank you, Frida" and is printed with black oil based ink on acid free paper. Each print is signed and numbered. The image area is 11x14 with a border of about an inch all around to make it easy to mat and frame.

The image is hand printed using the block printing method onto a cotton flour sack tea towel using fabric ink. The print is on both sides of this tea towel.
