Lacy Hale with Alison Lundergan Grimes

The past few months have been very exciting for Lacy. She has participated in shows at the MAC in Prestonsburg, KY, the Grayson Gallery in Grayson, KY, has helped her husband and friends open a record store in Whitesburg, KY, and has spoken on panels about the arts in the area.

In July, her exhibit at the Appalachian Artisan Center in Hindman, KY was coming to a close and she had the opportunity to show and explain her artwork to the current Secretary of State in Kentucky/Kentucky's Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, Alison Lundergan Grimes. Alison was very personable, friendly, and even bought one of Lacy's paintings! (pictured below)

The title of the painting was "They Cut a New Path" and because it was about family ties and trailblazing, Alison felt it embodied her and what she's doing for the state of Kentucky. Lacy was thrilled to be able to meet Alison and (as Mrs. Grimes said) that one of her paintings may one day hang in the Capital Building!
